Our signature program is ‘Design your Dream Garden Online’ , which is self paced so you have total flexibility. Each step is broken down into bite size actionable pieces, accompanied with videos and templates and support from Kathleen. By the end of the program you will have a scaled Garden Concept Plan specific to your site, needs and budget.
Kathleen Murphy Landscape Designs (KMLD) work ranges from inner city courtyard and suburban gardens to large private properties all over the world. We help others design spaces with a strong focus on linking the architecture of the house and buildings to the surrounding landscape.
We believe having a garden plan is invaluable and should be accessible to more people. Our online offering aims to bridge the gap, helping more people access professional services for less.
We are based in the Victoria’s Macedon Ranges, 1 hr north of Melbourne. So we understand the unique growing conditions of severe frosts and high summer temperatures and help select plants that are suitable.
We also connect with Horticultural Professionals around the world to help guide you on suitable plant selections.

Meet Kathleen Murphy
Trained in horticulture at Dublin's Botanical Gardens and later completed further studies with the Royal Horticultural Society and Melbourne's Burnley University studying native plants.
Kathleen worked for Landscape Architects Mitchells & Associates in Dublin, working on a number of large scale projects. She established Kathleen Murphy Landscape Design (KMLD) in 2006 and has been designing gardens and leading a small team ever since.
She was awarded The Design Files + Laminex 2020 Landscape Design Award for Native Retreat-Studio Garden. Which is now offered as accommodation (Macedon View House & Garden) so you can stay and explore it yourself!
